Braves Edge Mets, 4-3
|
The New York Mets got a superb performance from left fielder Eddie Rosario, but the Atlanta Braves still won the game, 4-3. Rosario was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Michael Lorenzen picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Mike Montgomery took the loss. The Mets fall to 9-12 and continue their uneasy start to the 2018 season.
Atlanta won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Mike Montgomery on the mound for New York, third baseman Miguel Sano hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Braves fans to their feet.
Sano told a Atlanta Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
