Diamondbacks Lose to Nationals, 8-2
|
The Washington Nationals got a strong performance from pitcher Nathan Karns, who stymied the Arizona offense en route to a 8-2 win at Nationals Park. The Diamondbacks fall to 13-13 and continue their uneasy start to the 2018 season.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from third baseman Yulieski Gurriel. For the game, Gurriel was 1 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Washington a 3-1 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gurriel told the Washington Observer.
