League Suspends Byrd and Serrano for Fisticuffs
Friday, May 15th, 2020
Yesterday at San Manuel Stadium Vincent Byrd and Kyle Serrano got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Inland Empire 66ers and Frederick Keys. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.

Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Byrd will have to sit out 4 while Serrano would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.

So far this year Byrd has hit .167 with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

So far this season Serrano has a 2-2 record with a 6.18 ERA.
