Velazquez Batters Down East for 6 Hits Friday, May 8th, 2020 Andrew Velazquez did a number on the Wood Ducks in the Dunedin 12-4 victory today, and the number was 6. The Blue Jays second baseman banged out 6 hits in 6 at-bats at Grainger Stadium to lead his club past the Down East Wood Ducks. "I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Andrew Velazquez doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Zach Peek in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In the 2020 season Velazquez is hitting .357 with 4 home runs. |
