Round 2 Goes the Distance, Buies Creek Prevails Saturday, September 26th, 2020 The Buies Creek Astros and Lakeland Flying Tigers didn't hold back anything in the Round 2, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the Round 3. Buies Creek won the final game by a score of 5-3 at Joker Marchant Stadium and that concluded the series, 4-3. "Relief is the biggest thing," Buies Creek center fielder Akil Baddoo said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Lakeland deserves credit for the hard fight." Baddoo paced the Buies Creek offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .333 with a .400 on-base percentage, 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Buies Creek Astros don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jupiter Hammerheads - Lancaster JetHawks series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece.
