Chicago shortstop Paul DeJong had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Washington Nationals, 7-5. Chicago reliever Roberto Osuna was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Nate Jones took the loss. The save went to Nick Burdi, number 10 for him.

DeJong had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 slider from Nate Jones, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Cubs a 7-5 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for DeJong.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," DeJong after the game.

Chicago now owns a record of 18-23.
