11 Straight Wins for Braves
|
Braves center fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Washington Nationals. Acuna Jr. went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Atlanta in the contest. Atlanta reliever Luke Jackson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Kyle Crick shouldered the loss. Brian Moran notched his 16th save in 17 chances.
Acuna Jr. had a timely hit for Atlanta in the top of the ninth. With Washington trailing 4-2, he turned a 1-2 slider into a bases-clearing double. It was his 8th double of the season, making it 5-4, Atlanta.
"The vibe's good," said Atlanta manager Tyler Rumpel. "We've got to keep it going."
Atlanta improves to 63-41 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.
