Nationals Deal Rangers 4-3 Defeat
|
Washington right-hander Yu Darvish pitched his team to victory over the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The final score was 4-3. The winning pitcher was Darvish, now 7-4. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Kyle Crick got credit for the save for Washington. It was his 16th of the year.
Washington relied on the hitting of Tyler White to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Nationals on top, 4-2. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I liked his command," said Washington manager Maurice Hamilton. "Yu was throwing strikes."
