Edgar Quero took A1 by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 20.
For his spectacular campaign, the St. Lucie Mets star has been named the 2023 National Conference Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the catcher.
On the season he compiled a .331 batting average to go with a .412 on-base percentage. The native of Cienfuegos, Cuba also added 37 doubles, 2 triples, 23 home runs, 88 RBIs and 86 runs scored.
He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 30. Trey Cabbage of the St. Lucie Mets finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Torii Hunter Jr. of the Lake Elsinore finished third.
