Astros Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Texas left fielder Joc Pederson had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Pederson was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, even as Houston beat the Rangers, 5-4. Pederson was named the player of the game despite the loss. Reliever Dovydas Neverauskas picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Anthony Swarzak took the loss. Houston has a 3-game win streak, while Texas has lost 3 in a row.
Xander Bogaerts was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Astros shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Bogaerts said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
