Giants Lose, 9-5, at PNC Park
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Lorenzo Cain, the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the San Francisco Giants, 9-5. Cain went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Pirates. Their 14-24 record puts the Pirates last in the National League Central Division.
Cain had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Pirates went on to win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Pittsburgh skipper Corey Wehr.
