Brantley scores 3 runs, White Sox Move to 12-7
|
Michael Brantley left his imprint on the 8-6 Chicago win against the Oakland Athletics. Brantley, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in home runs with 6, was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Chicago reliever Antonio Senzatela picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mike Leake absorbed the loss. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Trevor Gott.
Brantley came through with some timely hitting for Chicago. With the score 5-5 in the top of the fifth and two down, Brantley hit a 0-2 sinker for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season made it 8-5, Chicago.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Chicago manager Corey Krentsa.
The Athletics, now 6-13, continue their poor start.
