Late Rally by Rockies Secures Win
|
The Rockies had to overcome a good performance from Pittsburgh pitcher Patrick Corbin to claim a 7-5 win at PNC Park. Corbin went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Colorado is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 17 games.
Had Jacob Stallings not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Stallings hit a bases-clearing double. That made the score 7-4, in favor of the Rockies.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Stallings.
