Twins Raise Rally Flag, Beat Chicago, 7-4
|
Chicago second baseman Daniel Murphy was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Minnesota beat the White Sox, 7-4. Murphy was named the player of the game despite the loss. The winner was Minnesota reliever A.J. Ramos, now 1-0. The loser was Richard Lovelady. Minnesota is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 5th in 15 games.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Ian Kinsler, who is a four-time All-Star, reached on an error by the SS. The Twins went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Kinsler told a Minnesota Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
