Orioles Score Late to Upend Yankees, 7-3
|
The Orioles faced a stiff challenge from New York pitcher Zack Greinke, but persevered to claim a win at Yankee Stadium. The final score was 7-3. Greinke went 7.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The winner was Bartolo Colon in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Josh Lucas took the loss. With the loss, New York sinks to 3-5.
In the top of the 8th, designated hitter Shohei Ohtani gave Baltimore the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Orioles had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out home run off New York pitcher Xavier Cedeno changed that -- and Baltimore went on to win.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Ohtani told the Baltimore Chronicle.
