Houston Astros starter Clayton Kershaw was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Seattle Mariners, 1-0. The winner was Houston reliever John Brebbia, now 2-2. The loser was Aaron Civale.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Oneil Cruz had a chance to be the hero. Seattle pitcher Aaron Civale had other ideas. But with one out, Cruz hit a run-scoring single. The Astros had themselves a dramatic win.

"Runs were at a premium," said Houston manager Mister Manager.

With the win, Houston pushed its record to 63-62.
