Mets Tack 3-1 Loss on St. Louis
|
The New York Mets had to overcome a fine performance from St. Louis pitcher Framber Valdez to grab a 3-1 win at Busch Stadium. Valdez allowed 2 runs over 5.2 innings. Giovanny Gallegos notched his 3rd save in 3 chances. The win for the Mets raised their record to 66-57.
Helping the New York cause was Eugenio Suarez. In the top of the fifth, the three-time All-Star had a run-scoring sacrifice fly to make the score 2-1, Mets.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said St. Louis skipper Tyler Wagner. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
