Marte Rips 2 Home Runs in 6-4 Marlins Triumph
|
The timely hitting of Ketel Marte helped the Miami Marlins down the Houston Astros, 6-4. Marte was 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Marlins. Chris Paddack earned the win for Miami. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 8-10. Picking up the save was Emmanuel Clase. He's now 30 for 34 in save chances.
Marte contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Miami get the win.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Marte, "and then get after it again."
The National League East Division-leading Marlins are 73-47.
