White Sox Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Toronto
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Daniel Murphy, the Chicago White Sox defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-2. Murphy went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the White Sox. Brad Peacock earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 6-9. The White Sox bumped their record to 54-52 with this latest triumph.
The White Sox got a big at-bat from first baseman Brandon Belt. For the game, Belt went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 20th double of the season gave Chicago a 4-1 lead.
"Glad to see the fans get into it," said Murphy.
