|
Behind the hitting of Mookie Betts, the Seattle Mariners stopped the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-4. Betts went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Mariners. Felix Bautista recorded the save, making him 22 for 28. With the win, Seattle pushed its record to 53-50.
Seattle left fielder Lane Thomas helped the Mariners to the win. In the top of the fifth inning, the 27-year old left fielder stroked a 2-run single. For the game, Thomas was 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Seattle manager Paul Golias.
