6-5 Win Gets New York to 51-49
|
Boston got a terrific game from left fielder Corey Dickerson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to New York, 6-5. Dickerson was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. New York has now won 5 in a row.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Luis Arraez? The New York left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Mets on top, 3-1. For the game, Arraez had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Joe Curtis told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
