Guardians Beat Visiting Phillies, 6-5
|
The timely hitting of Estevan Florial helped the Cleveland Guardians down the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5. Florial belted 2 home runs for the Guardians. John Means earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 3-6. Liam Hendriks recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 3 for 6.
Cleveland won the game because of players like Mitch Garver. The 32-year-old catcher had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second, putting his team up, 4-3.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Garver said.
The third-place Guardians have won 4 consecutive games.
