Beltre Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Tampa Bay in Walk-Off Win
|
The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Miami Marlins, 6-5, in American League action at Tropicana Field, with Tampa Bay pitcher Jake Arrieta named player of the game. Tampa Bay reliever Bryan Mitchell got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Cheslor Cuthbert was tagged with the loss. The Rays bumped their record to 55-42 with this latest triumph.
The Rays got a big at-bat from third baseman Adrian Beltre. For the game, Beltre went 2 for 7 with 2 singles and 2 walks. In the bottom of the 17th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 86th hit of the season gave Tampa Bay a 6-5 lead.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Beltre said.
