Behind a solid performance from first baseman Eric Thames, the Texas Rangers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 6-4. Thames went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Rangers. Texas is now 61-33, 9 games up in the American League West Division.

Thames had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Rangers went on to win.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Thames told the Texas Today.
