Nationals Prevail, 5-4, Over Philadelphia
|
Nationals third baseman Yulieski Gurriel put his stamp on his team's 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Gurriel went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Washington in the contest. Alex Reyes converted his 2nd save in 3 tries. The Nationals bumped their record to 47-31 with this latest triumph.
Chris Taylor, who is tied for 9th in the NL in triples with 4, aided the Washington cause with a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, the shortstop was 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gurriel. "And not try to do too much."
