The San Francisco Giants topped the Miami Marlins, 2-0, in National League action at AT&T Park. The player of the game was San Francisco pitcher Michael Wacha. Brad Boxberger notched his 5th save in 6 chances. The losses continue to mount for Miami, which has now dropped 9 in a row.
Kyle Schwarber was 1-3 with a walk for San Francisco. The 25-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Drew Hutchison. It was his 40th walk of the season.
"I really like what we did out there today," Schwarber said after the game.
