Angels Need Extra Frames to Get Past Athletics
|
The Los Angeles Angels outscored the Oakland Athletics, 11-10. Trevor Story led the way, going 3-for-5 for Los Angeles. Los Angeles reliever Jose Alvarez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Zach Davies absorbed the loss. The Angels bumped their record to 40-32 with this latest triumph.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Kevin Pillar came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Oakland pitcher Zach Davies, he hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Angeles on top, 11-9.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Story.
