Phillies Top Giants Behind Fister, 1-0

The Philadelphia Phillies topped the San Francisco Giants, 1-0, in National League action at AT&T Park. The player of the game was Philadelphia pitcher and Merced, California native Doug Fister. Kenley Jansen earned the save, his 14th, for the Phillies. The Phillies have an impressive 37-21 record.
Fister's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 2 hits. Fister, who is tied for 4th in the NL in wins with 6, goes to 6-2 on the year with 48 strikeouts.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Philadelphia manager Anthony Cepperalo. "Our pregame was pretty good."
