Brewers Stymie New York, Take 4-1 Win
|
The Milwaukee Brewers beat the New York Mets, 4-1, at Miller Park. The Brewers got a fine performance from left fielder Jabari Blash, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Milwaukee reliever Nick Rumbelow was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Eduardo Rodriguez took the loss. The Brewers bumped their record to 31-22 with this latest triumph.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from third baseman Eugenio Suarez. For the game, Suarez was 2 for 3 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 63rd hit of the season gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Blash.
