Yankees Get Close Win Over Rangers
|
Texas pitcher Jose Quintana gave the Yankees all they could handle, but in the end, New York left Globe Life Park in Arlington with a 3-1 win. Quintana allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits over 7 innings. The Yankees bumped their record to 28-21 with this latest triumph.
Enrique Hernandez helped out the New York cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4.
Afterward, Yankees manager Brent Goerz was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
