Gwinnett Southpaw Tosses 4-0 Shutout Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 24-year-old Gwinnett Stripers pitcher Devin Smeltzer had a strong outing against the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field today, keeping them off the scoreboard the whole game. He struck out 9 in the 4-0 win and walked 0 while surrendering 3 hits. "Hopefully there will be plenty more of these in the future for us," he said. Presently Smeltzer has a 3-4 mark in 9 starts with a 4.07 ERA. He has given up 47 hits in 55.1 innings, struck out 47 and issued 10 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .227 batting average against him. |
