Kirilloff Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle
Tuesday, May 19th, 2020
Alex Kirilloff truly did it all at Victory Field today.
The Indianapolis Indians right fielder hit for the cycle -- collecting 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run -- as he paced his club to victory, 10-0 over the Louisville Bats.
"You know that sweet sound you hear when you hit the ball just right? I heard that every time today," Kirilloff said later. "It was a heck of a feeling."
It was a game good enough for him to make a little history. He bombed Louisville pitching for 4 hits in 5 at-bats and his name will now go into the record books. Kirilloff also racked up 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored in the game.
Alex Kirilloff singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Lewis Thorpe in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th.
In his stats this season, Kirilloff has posted a batting average of .304 with 45 hits in 148 at-bats, 4 home runs and 29 RBIs. He has also scored 36 runs, walked 15 times and compiled a .384 OBP.
