Devers Smacks 3 Out of the Park Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 Fans are still buzzing after Cleveland whipped the Chicago White Sox by the score of 20-2 today at Guaranteed Rate Field. Rafael Devers smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the third baseman bashed out 4 hits in 5 at-bats, had 9 RBIs and scored 4 times. At the postgame press conference, Devers said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Devers said. "Three is just... wow." Rafael Devers hit a two-run home run off Brad Peacock in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Anderson Severino in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Addison Reed in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Presently Devers is hitting .292 with 39 home runs and 120 RBIs. He has played in 148 games and scored 96 times. |
