The Cincinnati Reds trumped the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-3, at Great American Ball Park. Cincinnati left fielder Joey Gallo was terrific. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The winner was Cincinnati reliever Edgar Santana, now 3-0. The loser was JT Brubaker. Cincinnati is last in the National League Central Division with a record of 21-25.
A key moment came in the bottom of the sixth inning when Reds right fielder Gregory Polanco socked a 2-1 fastball to right for a 3-run home run, putting Cincinnati up, 6-3.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Gallo said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
