Nationals Drop Diamondbacks, 9-5
Arizona shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. was sensational. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Washington beat the Diamondbacks, 9-5. Washington reliever Steve Hathaway was credited with the win, to go to 3-0. J.B. Wendelken took the loss for Arizona. With the win, Washington upped its record to 27-17.

Washington used a timely hit from Matt Beaty to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Nationals ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We've got a great group of guys," Beaty said, "and we're having fun right now."
