Twins Drop 3-1 Decision to Royals
|
The Minnesota Twins got a sterling performance from pitcher Chris Stratton, but the Kansas City Royals still prevailed, 3-1. Stratton threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Taylor Guilbeau picked up the save for Kansas City, his 7th of the year. The win gives Kansas City a season record of 20-18.
Kansas City right fielder Aristides Aquino contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a 2-run single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Royals ahead, 3-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Kansas City manager Bryce Shuck.
