The Boston Red Sox topped the New York Yankees, 9-3, in American League action at Yankee Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston first baseman Marwin Gonzalez. The win has Boston at 15-25.

It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Mike Trout, the eight-time All-Star . Trout contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Boston up, 7-3.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Matt Spencer said.
