Rangers Win to Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of right fielder Bryce Harper, the Texas Rangers got a road win against the Kansas City Royals, 8-2, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. Harper was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Rangers, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
The Rangers took a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Facing Kansas City hurler Charlie Morton with no outs, Harper hit a 2-run double.
Kansas City manager Bryce Shuck said his team was "out of sync."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Matt Shoemaker for Texas and Robbie Ray for Kansas City.
