Red Sox Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Boston Red Sox withstood an impressive performance by Toronto third baseman Kris Bryant to defeat the Blue Jays, 10-9, at Rogers Centre. Bryant hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times. Boston reliever Kyle Keller picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Trevor Rosenthal shouldered the loss. The victory puts Boston at 12-21.
One big at-bat came with a runner on 2nd in the top of the 11th inning. Willi Castro, who leads the AL in triples with 3, grounded out off Toronto pitcher Trevor Rosenthal. The Red Sox went on to win the game.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Boston skipper Matt Spencer.
