Athletics Get Past Houston for 6-5 Win
|
A 3-RBI performance from Josh Donaldson, who finished 2nd in the AL in slugging percentage with .568 in 2015, helped the Oakland Athletics beat the Houston Astros, 6-5. The winner was Aaron Bummer in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tyler Duffey took the loss. Houston falls to 16-11.
Greg Garcia said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the ninth. Garcia belted a solo home run to stake Oakland to a 6-5 lead. His 1st home run of the season came off Houston pitcher Tyler Duffey.
"Enjoyed this one," Garcia told the Oakland News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
