Houston and Texas played a hard-fought contest.

Houston starter Robbie Ray pitched well against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. The win puts Houston at 8-5.

It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Tommy La Stella, the 31-year old third baseman . La Stella contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Houston up, 3-1.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Houston skipper Craig Puckett. "I can't complain."
