Phillies Deal Reds 8-3 Defeat
|
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, taking down the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3. Starting pitcher Caleb Smith was a big reason why. The win gives Philadelphia a record of 8-5.
Philadelphia relied on the bat of Justin Turner to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Phillies ahead, 3-0. For the game, Turner had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Turner.
