New York Hot Streak Continues with 4-3 Win
|
The New York Yankees racked up a win at Yankee Stadium, bumping off the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3. Ryan Yarbrough, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Yarbrough, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Alex Vesia finished to wrap up his 1st save.
The Yankees got a big hit from right fielder Charlie Blackmon. In the bottom of the fifth, Blackmon pounded a bases-clearing double to center. His 8th double of the season put the Yankees ahead, 4-0.
"We're all smiles after that win," Blackmon told the New York News.
The win brings the Yankees to 10-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
