New York Gets 4-2 Win
|
The New York Yankees topped the Tampa Bay Rays, 4-2, in American League action at Tropicana Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Trevor Richards. Wade Davis earned the save for New York, his 1st. Tampa Bay drops to 1-3.
Paul Goldschmidt contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat that helped New York get the win.
Tampa Bay manager TJ Barnaba said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
