Red Sox Beat Visiting Orioles, 4-2
|
Boston Red Sox starter Alejandro Requena was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2. Edwin Diaz got the save, his 33rd in 35 chances. The Red Sox' win now puts them at 69-92.
With runs few and far between, the Red Sox had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Boston came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when center fielder Mike Trout delivered a 2-run home run. The home run was hit off Alex Cobb and made the score 3-0, Red Sox. Trout was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Baltimore manager Eric S said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
