San Francisco Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss
|
Arizona Diamondbacks starter Max Fried was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the San Francisco Giants, 3-0. Fried, now 11-8, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Keone Kela earned his 28th save in 30 chances.
The game could have flipped with no one out in the top of the sixth. But Max Fried made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With a runner on 1st and San Francisco trailing 2-0, Fried threw a fastball to Yairo Munoz and Munoz struck out.
San Francisco is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
