With 4-2 Win, Phillies Improve to 63-55
|
The Philadelphia Phillies topped the San Francisco Giants, 4-2, in National League action at Citizens Bank Park. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and Huntsville, Texas, native Caleb Smith. Nick Nelson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. With the win, Philadelphia pushed its record to 63-55.
Giancarlo Stanton, the Philadelphia right fielder, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 2-0, Phillies. For the game, Stanton went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
