|
Tampa Bay starter Carlos Carrasco had a strong outing against the Boston Red Sox at Tropicana Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Carrasco, now 9-9. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 9. With the win, the Rays sit at 59-56.
The Rays got a big at-bat from designated hitter Miguel Sano. For the game, Sano went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 5-3 lead.
