Milwaukee Beats Pittsburgh, 3-2
|
The Milwaukee Brewers did just enough to sneak past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-2, at PNC Park. Milwaukee shortstop Brad Miller, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner was Jose Quijada in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Martin Perez took the loss. Damien Magnifico recorded the save, making him 26 for 30.
Tommy Pham, who finished 3rd in the NL in on-base percentage with .411 in 2017, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder drove in one run.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Pham.
With the win, Milwaukee pushed its record to 65-49.
