The Boston Red Sox went home winners at Rogers Centre, thanks in large part to starter Adam Wainwright. Wainwright stifled the Toronto Blue Jays, enabling Boston to grab the 2-1 win. Wainwright, now 2-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. With this game in the books, Boston is 42-60, Toronto 46-57.

It could have been a different outcome for Boston, had it not been for Xander Bogaerts, the 27-year old shortstop . Bogaerts contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Boston up, 2-1.

"It feels good, just a great win all around," Wainwright said after the game.
